Year 1967-1969 Followed an engineering course as a mechanical engineer. Year 1969 – 1971 I received training as a special mathematics teacher. - 1971-1983- Worked as a mathematics teacher; producing best results in Kandy schools. At that time the demand for good mathematics teachers were very high and that led me to work tirelessly day/night in other schools as well.
- Meantime, the “Blue Haven Guest House” - “Blue Haven Travels” - “Green View Holiday Resort ” were established by me in 1983 and since tourism was booming at that time, I gave up teaching to look after my guest house and travel business full time. As a teacher my hobby was to discover hidden beauty of Sri Lanka and this knowledge was used to guide tours around the country for the visiting tourists with a great success.
- It was a great experience and wonderful opportunity for me to visit many beautiful places in my own country and gain more knowledge of the industry and I am thankful to those tourists who have accepted my proposals to discover new places away from the usual travel itineraries.
- In 1992, I trained as a Sri Lanka Tourist Board Guide/Lecturer and also rendered my services to the “Rail Tours office”, the main tourist information office of the Fort Railway Station where I had the opportunity to work and arrange special tours for foreign commuters featuring trains to visit many tourist attractions in Sri Lanka based on my personal experience of rail travel.
- Besides our main office, we have also opened a city office in Kandy close to the International Tourist Information Centre of the Tourist Board, for the convenience our customers and offer them a better service.
